Local and Sustainable

Cornell Catering is dedicated to advancing environmental sustainability at each and every function — from 10 to 10,000 guests. Whenever possible our chefs work with local farmers and vendors to incorporate locally sourced and grown food into our everyday menus.

Our facilities on north campus feature a compost system so that pre- and post-event organic materials are easily collected and redistributed to local Finger Lakes farms in partnership with Cayuga Compost.

As part of our commitment to sustainability we provide compostable service ware at no additional charge to our customers.

Cornell Catering provides signage at events to guide your guests on the differences among compostable, recyclable, and trash items. 

Cornell Catering is a proud supporter of local programs that include Challenge Workforce Solutions' Finger Lakes Fresh, Farm to Cornell, Cornell Small Farms Program, Cornell University Cooperative Extension, Farmer's Market at Cornell, Dilmun Hill Student Farm, and The Food Bank of the Southern Tier.
